Prof. Dr. Rabia Khawar, the Chairperson of the Department of Applied Psychology Govt
College University of Faisalabad, expresses her views on mental health through the lens of social
capital under the HEC- GCF-844 project at the mental health day celebrations organized by
Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences, DHQ Hospital Faisalabad. Who are also
collaborate of the project HEC- GCF- 844. the She highlights the importance of social capital in
the context of mental health. Besides the explaining its structural & cognitive components in
Pakistani cultural context. She emphasized the need for social capital based interventions
specially to reduce the stigma of mental illness in community. Such interventions could facilitate
the families of patients with mental illness as increased the social resources improves resilience
and adaptive coping skills among family members of all ages.
At the end of the program, the Prof . Dr. Imtiaz Ahmad Dogar head of Department of
Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences, DHQ Hospital Faisalabad give valuable concluding
remarks on mental health through the lens of social capital. Further he distributed appreciation
certificates and honorariums to the resource person Prof. Dr. Rabia Khawar.
